Saturday 23rd November, 2024
2:30pm- 4:30pm
Drawing from a breadth of knowledge on astrology, mythology, the arts, literature, Jungian theory, yoga and other spiritual systems to inform the seminar, we will cover major planetary complexes, for example; Uranus/ Pluto, Venus/ Pluto and Neptune in relation to major world events, and developments in literature and the arts, like the 60's countercultural revolution, the birth of psychoanalysis, surrealism, abstract expressionism, and the Covid-19 pandemic, which was concurrent with the Jupiter/ Saturn/ Uranus/ Pluto alignment. Along with archetypal astrology of the time, we'll incorporate some of the major planetary constellations in the charts of notable figures including Virginia Woolf and James Joyce (fellow Uranians), Roland Barthes, and Marcel Proust (fellow Lunarians/ Venusians, along with Virginia Woolf), Nick Cave, and P.J. Harvey (both Lunar Plutonians), Joe Strummer, Che Guevara, Carl Gustav Jung, Sigmund Freud, and Stendhal, all helping to deepen an understanding of the planetary dynamics that synchronistically inform character and life circumstance, in their multivalent expressions.
This form of astrology more than any other, helps to make sense of the larger mythopoeic structure shaping our life stories, taking into account the deeper underlying patterns and themes at play within the chart expressed through specific planetary dynamics. If you are familiar with your birth chart and personal transit astrology, it will be possible to draw parallels as we go along, and if not, feel free to book an astrological consultation, either in person at The Swansea Wellbeing Centre, or privately. Future workshops will focus on in-depth, individual planetary complexes.
