We are meeting on zoom in February
A weekly group walk starting from the Wellbeing Centre and exploring the local green spaces. Each week we will head for a different venue, for example Victoria Park and the beach, the Vetch Community Gardens, St James Gardens, Cwmdonkin Park and Rosehill Quarry. There’ll be a chance to exchange information and knowledge about health and wellbeing, mindfulness, the natural world, and of course Swansea local history - whatever interests you.
The first session is a free taster and is open to all. After the first session the walks are in blocks of 6, payable in advance, at £7 per session. For health and safety reasons, the group is capped at 10. If you are interested please contact directly.
Many of us may experience the death of a much-loved friend, partner, or family member at some point in our lives. How we manage our loss is different for every individual there is no right or wrong way to grieve.
The bereavement support group can offer a nurturing and safe environment for you to help with adjustment and coping following a death. It offers a space to meet others who have also shared a loss.

Gail Stewart, the highly-reputed Sound Journey facilitator, invites you to the next in her amazingly popular series of weekly meditative online Sound Journeys at 9pm on Tuesday 16th February 2021.
Once again, you can go to bed, or relax somewhere else by simply lying or sitting down. Then do nothing but allow the magical dance of the interwoven sound vibrations to wash over, permeate and heal you.
The session will begin with a short guided meditation followed by a Sound Journey using gongs etc which will last about 45 minutes. Headphones or earphones are ideally necessary to gain the maximum benefit.
This class will offer you time to relax and slow down in a beautiful calm environment. Brain chatter and feelings of being overwhelmed can really get in the way of how we are living our lives.
The aim of relaxation can help you to slow down negative and busy thoughts. This will allow you to respond positively to yourself, help improve mood, happiness and general well being.
You will need to bring mat, cushion and blanket.

Alina Ascari and Dr Noel Thomas, G.P, continue, after six years, to provide, now with British Homeopathic Association funding, a free weekly homeopathic clinic for asylum seekers, and refugees and vulnerable people. They have wide experience in Wales, in the N.H.S, and abroad, particularly with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
The holistic nature of homeopathy means each person is treated as a unique individual and their body, mind, spirit and emotions are all considered in the management and prevention of disease. Taking all these factors into account a homeopath will select the most appropriate medicine based on the individual’s specific symptoms and personal level of health to stimulate their own healing ability.
Mindfulness is about learning to direct our attention to our experience as it unfolds, moment by moment, with open-minded curiosity, kindness and acceptance, instead of worrying about what has happened or might happen. It trains us to explore and respond skilfully to whatever is happening right now. Research studies show that mindfulness practice alters the structure and function of the brain. These changes have been linked to improved concentration, mood regulation and immune function, helping with relationships, communication, drive and ultimately an improved sense of wellbeing and happiness. Over this 6 week course you will learn how mindfulness can help you recognise when you become entangled in streams of self-criticism, worries and negative thinking and learn tools to interrupt this process and make wise choices. You will learn how to respond rather than react, and figure out how you can best take care of yourself when feeling anxious, low or stressed. Mindfulness practices allow us to appreciate the joyful moments while learning to navigate and survive the tricky ones. These new skills will help cultivate warmth and compassion towards yourself and others, enabling you to find balance in your life and opening you up to happiness and contentment and a place where you can flourish.
This 6 week course will start on 15th April in The Swansea Well-Being Centre. On Thursdays 6pm-7.30pm £180 there will also be a retreat day following the course. £30
