ASMR Massage Therapy

ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and it is the term used to describe a relaxing tingling sensation, which usually starts on the scalp and travels down the body. ASMR can be triggered by sounds such as whispers, tapping or crackles and can be triggered by feather light tracing or brushing on the skin, hair brushing and gentle massage. This is what Whispering Hands will be offering.

ASMR differs from the traditional massage as it incorporates elements to trigger the ASMR tingling sensations and help the client relax. The aim of the treatment is to promote a state of deep relaxation and improve well-being. Recent studies have shown this intervention has a number of positive effects on both the body and the mind. Some people who experience ASMR find that it helps them to sleep better, reduces anxiety and stress, improves mood and can have a pain relieving effect.
